The image was taken several days ago by Oscar, one of our ace 
technicians. The resident called due to lack of air flow and high electric bill. To be blunt, what we have here is a Filter Choke Out!
Washable air filters must be cleaned on a regular basis. With so much dirt caked on it, this filter is no longer working. Think about your car and what would happen if you never changed the air filter… same concept here.
Dirty air filters are the #1 reason for HVAC system failure. Filth restricts the air flow into the air handler and makes the fan motor work harder. Truth is, cleaning or changing filters saves money and sense.
Preventable
No matter what kind of filter you have, wash or replace monthly. Make sure the filter is dry before placing it back inside the unit.
If you have hairy animals, change or clean the filter every 3 weeks.
Take a look at the image again. Do you have a filter choke out? When it comes to air quality and comfort, take care of your air conditioner and it will take care of you!
