HVAC Diary: Rat Poop

Tropical Air of Central Florida will be sharing HVAC Diary experiences and on-site images to keep you in the know. Articles, insight, and air conditioning tips are designed to keep you cool in the Summer, warm in the Winter, and safe all year around.

HVAC Diary: Rat PoopI had to share this photo with everyone. Now first I must say, this is not the worst I’ve seen. Look closely. Tell me what you see… rodent droppings.

Rodent droppings cause your house to smell and can be deadly…. Take a deep breath, you just put the rat bacteria into your lungs. Yes, it’s that simple.

Rodent Signs

  • You see a rodent
  • Rodents sharing your food
  • Musky odor throughout your home
  • Gnawing damage, smudge marks, grease smears
  • Rodent droppings disguised as raisins or black rice
  • Hearing the pitter-patter sounds of scuffling in attic and walls.

Why Care?

  • Rodents spread disease
  • Eating insulation in the attic
  • Replacing contaminated food costs big bucks
  • House damage, holes in the walls, and floors

How rat and mice diseases spread

  • Bite wounds
  • Breathing contaminated dust
  • Direct contact with rodents or their urine and poop

Bottom line: Take care of your home, your health, and your family.

Though we are an HVAC company, we handle insulation and would be glad to work with you and your pest company to ensure high air quality and a safer home.
